The Entrepreneurship Custodians Network in partnership with SAB&T as a host partner held the SMME Enterprise& Supplier Development Business Breakfast Event at the Somatology Campus Centurion on the 12th of August 2016. The theme of the event was “Strategy to integrate SMMEs into the supply and procurement chain”. The theme has been designed as an opportunity to ensure that SMMEs play a central role in the supply & procurement chain. The event also saw the shaping and participating of SMMEs in the trajectory that will see them benefit through Enterprise Development Opportunities presented by State Owned Entities, Corporate and Government. The goal of the event was to engage with Industry Experts/ Practitioners, Corporate, State Owned Entities and Government on opportunities for Developing SMME through: Enterprise Development, Supplier Development, Procurement Opportunities, preferential procurement, supplier diversity. The event also unpacked and discussed in length the newly grouped BBBEE codes and opportunities presented by this amendment: Enterprise Development, Supplier Development and Procurement.  We further focused on identifying the strategic partnerships and structural configurations necessary to ensure coherent programmes towards the sustainable growth and development of SMMEs in South Africa. Representation The event attracted more than 150 SMME RSVPs and only 85 SMME delegates attended, we also attracted 3 corporate exhibitors and 10 SMME Practitioners/Speakers from Government, State Owned Entities and Corporate.
